I am a firm believer that interdisciplinary collaboration is at the heart of good design. I position myself as a connector who thrives by bringing people together to think and create collaboratively. I bring my own distinct experiences to the design table as a student with experience in Industrial Design, UX/UI Design, and Urban Design, a deep passion for the natural world, and a bi-cultural background.
As I continue to learn and grow through my studies and work experiences, my goal for what I want to achieve through design has shifted. In a world where all resources are essentially mined or grown, it is imperative that we strive to create restorative designs that work with, not against, our environment.
I am pursuing a minor in sustainability studies and interdisciplinary design. My minors and my involvement in the Kusske Design Initiative have taught me to use design as a tool to tackle the challenges facing our planet. I strive to design life centered products that are made with considerations for not just the human experience, but also the environmental and societal experiences. I am interested in bringing together industrial and urban design to design restorative projects that strengthen community connection.
My journey in design has been influenced by the distinct cities in which I've lived. Each city has presented me with various design lessons: we need to shift our idea of the city and nature being diametrically opposed, nature is an excellent design teacher, and the final product is only as strong as the team, to name a few.
